The Fandyman was born out of a dream to overcome one of the most frustrating aspects of home improvement projects: unreliable and dishonest contractors. So we developed a highly specialized, white-glove service that customers absolutely love.

Nearly 10 years ago, Brett Seidl (a native Texan) left her non-profit management career to pursue her dream of interior design. As she built her highly successful company, Lewis & Rose Interiors, it didn’t take long to experience one of the most frustrating aspects of the business: unreliable contractors who show up late or not at all, but still charge exorbitant amounts of money on an hourly fee structure for the smallest projects. Oh, and they often cut corners on top of that.

She knew there had to be a better experience available for her interior design clients.

Enter her husband, Jon.

Jon shared Brett’s frustration. Initially, that frustration was because Brett wouldn’t stop talking about it (cue the paused football games to hear her rant, or the “pillow talk” that was consumed by contractor woes).

So for years Jon had been helping Brett install fans and fixtures as part of her interior design business after so many other contractors were unreliable or offered sub-par service and pricing. When Brett needed someone she could count on, she “hired” Jon.

That led to the creation of The Fandyman, a family-owned professional installation service that tackles three of the most common home improvement needs: installing ceiling fans, light fixtures, and air filters.

And as for Jon? Well he’s a born and bred country boy from Wisconsin. And while he still loves Lake Michigan, he’s called Texas home since 2012. Originally he built an impressive resume in the digital media, marketing, and news space, having worked with some of the biggest names in the biz. (He’s even a published author with an Amazon bestseller.) But at the end of the day, he’d tell you that he’s just a country boy that loves fixing things — he’s “fandy.”

The husband-wife duo started The Fandyman to bring impeccable service, attitude, and honesty to the most amount of people. And now they want to bring it to you!
