Your friendly neighborhood ceiling fan and light fixture installer…

We’re a family-owned company in Frisco TX, focused on honesty, integrity, and respect (fair warning, you will hear a lot of “yes ma’am's and yes sir’s” around here).

Our team of expert installers will hang your ceiling fans, light fixtures, and change your HVAC air filters. We focus on those three things, and we do them really well.

The Fandyman: Fans, fixtures, filters, friendly, fast — all for a flat fee in Frisco! (Say that 10 times fast…)

Services

We are highly specialized in fans, fixtures, and filters. By hyper-focusing on those three things, it helps us keep our costs low and customer satisfaction high. We’ve earned the trust of our clients because we treat them like family. Book The Fandyman today and let us happily take on those tedious chores and handle the hard work (and you may even get a dad joke thrown in there for free).

We charge $199 per fan/fixture, and $75 per filter. And discounts are available for booking multiple fans/fixtures/filters for the same install appointment.

  • Ceiling fans can be tricky. Many times you need a special ladder, as well as insider knowledge on how to connect wires and switches properly. That’s where The Fandyman comes in! We’ll install your ceiling fans, swapping out the old and putting up the new. We take on the hard work and the risk so you can do what you do best — which, let’s be honest, probably isn’t installing ceiling fans.

  • You know those pendant lights above your kitchen island you’ve been wanting to replace, the ones you stare at every single day? We’ve got you covered. The Fandyman installs the majority of light fixtures, including pendants, chandeliers, and wall sconces!

  • In addition to ceiling fans and light fixtures, The Fandyman also replaces your HVAC air filters. Why? Because our clients kept asking us to! Ideally, your filters should be replaced every 90 days to properly filter dust and allergens.

  • Some would say it’s unwise to list what you don’t do, but we think it’s important. Why? Because it comes down to honesty, integrity, and full transparency. The Fandyman is able to keep costs low and satisfaction high by knowing who we are, what we are capable of, and what we can do well. For that reason, we do not run actual electrical wiring, service faulty fixtures or wiring, or service any kind of heating or air conditioning issues. We leave that to the other professionals.

We also do not install fans or light fixtures for ceilings over 12 feet.

We take pride in what we do.

What else sets The Fandyman apart? For starters, we believe in leaving our installs in better shape than we found them. It’s kind of our thing. We remove all the trash that comes along with installing new fans, fixtures, and filters. You need us to help take away the stress of the entire process, and simply cleaning up the trash is a big part of that.

It’s just one of the ways The Fandyman stands out. And we’re pretty dang proud of that.

The Fandyman Story

The Fandyman is the culmination of nearly 10 years in the luxury residential interior design space. Interior design? Yup. It was started by the husband and wife duo of Jon and Brett Seidl. As the owner of an award-winning interior design firm, Brett got frustrated with unreliable contractors and handymen, as well as the exorbitant hourly prices they would charge her clients to install fans and light fixtures. After hearing her frustrations for nearly a decade, Jon decided to put his handy (or “fandy”) skills to use in order to give customers the type of white-glove installation experience they deserve, and together they started The Fandyman.

FAQs

  • Flat fee means we do not charge hourly. Many contractors and handymen will lure you in with what sounds like a great deal, but then take their precious time. What sounds like a steal ends up costing you a lot more when you get the final invoice. We hate surprises. You probably do, too. So we’re up front about the cost. It doesn’t matter if it takes us all day (don’t worry, that’s unlikely), you’ll still only pay the flat fee we quoted you from the beginning. That’s The Fandyman guarantee!

  • Yes! If you book multiple fans/fixtures for a single install, the first fan/fixture is $199, and each subsequent fan/fixture is $149. (You can mix and match fans/fixtures as well!)

For filters, one filter is $75, while two costs $100.

  • Integrity is baked into our DNA. So is honesty. So we have no problem telling you that our installers are NOT licensed electricians or HVAC technicians. In the state of Texas, you do not need to be in order to complete basic fan and light installations as well as replace HVAC air filters. That’s why we specialize in these three elements: we know what we can do well, and so we stick to it. That helps keep our costs low and customer satisfaction high.

However, The Fandyman IS fully insured, so you can rest easy that our work is guaranteed and safe. All our installers are highly trained and understand exactly what to do in order to complete your job and get your home looking beautiful.

  • Absolutely! We take what we do very seriously. But you know what we take even MORE seriously? Safety! Our installers are fully insured should anything happen during your install. (But we’re not planning on that.)

  • In order to ensure the safety of our installers, we are required to be able to access your circuit breaker box and turn the power off for the fixture/fan we are replacing. If the fan/fixture you need serviced is located in an area where you need power during the install, you will need to make arrangements to be without for the duration of the install.

For example, if your fan/fixture is located in a home office and the same circuit also powers electronics like a computer, you will be without power in that location and will need to use another outlet or section of your home while we complete your install.

  • We can! (See what we did there?) Recessed lights can be converted to pendant lights with a simple conversation kit. Simply purchase the conversation kit (like this one) and have it ready for your install. But be sure the conversion kit can support the weight of your light before booking an install.

  • We specialize in 12 foot ceilings and below. Once again, this helps keep costs low and customer satisfaction high. Ceilings above 12 feet require special equipment, which means an added cost to you, as well as greater disruption to your home environment.

  • We do not supply fans, fixtures, or filters. That’s because each unique person has different tastes and needs. We refuse to waste your money on high storage fees or shipping costs. When you book The Fandyman, you should have your fan, fixture, or filters ready for install.

However, if you’re stuck, we can definitely suggest certain standard products, or even help you figure out your air filter size. We’re glad to help where we can!

  • You should have your fan(s), fixture(s), or filter(s) on hand and placed in the room where it should be installed. Additionally, any furniture (such as a bed or coffee table) should be removed from under the installation site so our installer has clear access to the area. Our installers will not be able to move your heavy furniture.

Also, while we love our furry friends, please crate or place cats and dogs in a restricted area. Our installers are messing with wires and ladders, and we want to keep everyone safe!

  • If we perform an in-home or on-site consultation, the minimum charge is $75. However, that money is credited toward your final payment for any installation work.

Additionally, if we dispatch an installer to your home and determine that the work is outside our scope or expertise, there is a minimum fee of $75 for assessing your needs.

  • From time to time, we’ll determine that it is unsafe or out of our scope to complete a project. These instances include (but aren’t limited to) faulty wiring, improperly installed ceiling boxes, unsafe attic space and other conditions, or drywall issues. If we encounter any of these, we will notify you immediately and recommend you elevate the install to another professional, which may include a licensed electrician, HVAC technician, drywall repair professional, or a contractor.

In the rare event that happens, we collect the $75 consultation fee, which covers our costs to dispatch an installer and assess your home.

  • When you book an installation, it’s important to understand that The Fandyman reserves the right to modify or cancel an appointment if we determine the requested work is outside our scope or expertise, or if there are unsafe working conditions. (The minimum service fee of $75 applies.) Once again, staying in our lane makes sure we keep costs low and satisfaction high.

  • Payment is due immediately upon completion of the consult or work. We accept check or credit/debit cards through our secure payment processor on site.
